The preliminary cover of Wirework Fall 2014 features a design by Penny Dixon -- a beader!
I know what you're thinking -- this is the Bead&Button
website! Why would Bead&Button
be looking for wirework and chain mail jewelry to publish? Well, I'm glad you asked!
Twice a year, the same editors who bring you Bead&Button, Art Jewelry, and Bead Style put their heads together to create Wirework magazine. It's devoted to jewelry made primarily with wire and chain mail, often with beads mixed in. In fact, we're working on Wirework Fall 2014 right now, and whose pendant is currently gracing the cover? Why, it's Penny Dixon, beader extraordinaire!
So own up to it -- you've been known to mix some wire and maybe (maybe!) even some chain mail into your original jewelry designs. Why not share them with the world? We are currently accepting submissions for Wirework Spring 2015 and are looking for the following:
- wirework projects, with how-to photos
- chain mail projects, with how-to photos
- gallery pieces (no how-to necessary!)
To submit, simply upload images of your work -- as many as you like -- to our contributor website. Make sure to select Wirework (not Bead&Button) as the magazine you are submitting to, and use the comments section to tell us all about your piece(s). We'll make our selections for Wirework Spring 2015 in September, and chosen contributors will be asked to supply instructions, how-to photos, and the physical jewelry at that time.
Who knows? Maybe YOU'LL be the next beader whose work appears on the cover of Wirework!
