How to use the Perler® Bead Sweeper

I’m always looking for ways to make bead cleanup faster and more efficient so when I saw this Bead Sweeper at the craft store, I thought I’d give it a try. It’s made to be used with Perler beads, which are big plastic beads for kids, so I wasn’t sure if it would work with the little seed beads that I usually use. But it works pretty well!

I've tried it with size 15/0, 11/0, and 8/0 seed beads as well as a few larger Czech glass beads and it worked with all of them. Just place the sweeper on your surface with the rotating brush facing forward, and glide the sweeper over the beads. A few of them will get away, but just sweep over them again, and after just a few passes, all your beads will be captured in the little compartment. Then, open the flip-top lid, and you can put your beads away.

I think this is a neat little invention and I expect I'll be using it regularly.
