Hard at work at the Bead-It-Forward assembly night.
Thousands of squares were submitted for the 2014 Bead-It-Forward project.
Two weeks ago, I posted a blog about the journey every Bead-It-Forward square goes through when it arrives in our offices. That includes coming to the Bead-It-Forward assembly nights, where the squares are combined to make quilts, shadowboxes, ornaments, and more. Here are just a few pictures from our first assembly night, which was last night. See any of your squares in there? Many thanks to the Loose Bead Society of Greater Milwaukee, the staff of Bead Style, numerous other Kalmbach employees, friends, families, and even a representative from a local JoAnns -- all pitched in to make this event happen!
Now, perhaps you've heard that Bead&Button won't be organizing the Bead-It-Forward project next year. It's true! The project has grown beyond the means of our little staff. However, we are excited to announce that Bead-It-Forward will go on under the management of Amy Severino! The 2015 theme will be Animals: Wild About Finding a Cure, and you can learn more at Amy's new website, www.bead-it-forward.com. The Bead-It-Forward project is now on Facebook, too!
Stay tuned to this blog -- we'll be introducing you to Amy Severino in the near future and hearing what she has to say about the Bead-It-Forward project going forward. (Hint, it's going to be even more awesome than ever!)
