How to find Bead&Button projects in a flash

I have a beta version of the 20 Years of Bead&Button DVD on my computer and I have to say I really love it! It has proven to be very helpful several times when I wanted to refer back to a previous article but couldn't remember when it was published. For instance, I was pretty sure we had at one time featured a lampwork bead by Robert Jennik but I didn't know when, so I clicked on the arrow next to the "search" box to access the advanced search tool. Clicking on "sections" brought up a list of departments that have been in the magazine over the years and I chose "Spotlight/Artist Spotlight."

About two seconds later I had 59 results and a quick scroll through pointed me to the issue I was looking for!

The advanced search is much more helpful than the basic search because you can really target what you're looking for. You can search search by keyword, which will scan titles, subheads, and keywords, or you can do a full text search. Either way, you can choose to do an exact search or you can select "and" and "or" options. For instance, I searched for "herringbone" and "necklace."

I got more than 200 results  . . .

. . . but it only took a moment to scan through them to find the one I wanted.

You can also search by author, as I did when I was looking for Diane Fitzgerald's teapot project, which I found in no time at all!

Of course, it's fun to just browse through the archive, page by page. What a great resource!

I'm excited about getting the real, actual DVD in a few weeks! Order yours here.
