Here's a treat designed by eight-year old Sophia Cruz!
I was working at home one evening last week, trying to design a peyote stitch pattern with a Halloween theme to post as a free project. It wasn’t long before my eight-year old daughter, Sophia, who thinks all technology in our house is her personal domain, began asking for her turn on the computer. She tried to be patient, but after observing my feeble attempts to draw a jack-o-lantern using Bead Tool 4, it was just too frustrating for her. She pulled out her colored pencils and a piece of paper and quickly sketched a friendly pumpkin with scrolling vines on a patterned background, handed it to me and said, “Here, Mom. Will this work?” Needless to say, I passed her the computer. I limited her to four colors and it took her all of about five minutes to figure out how to use the software.
The wonderful thing about Bead Tool 4 is a savvy eight-year old can figure it out with very little instructions, and the program gives you multiple options when it comes to saving the file. We saved it both as a chart and a word pattern. Click here to download this free pattern and have a happy Halloween!
