Celebrities join Kalmbach Books at Pre-Emmy event

Mekhi Phifer with Irina Miech. Mekhi is an American actor. He portrayed Dr. Greg Pratt on NBC's long-running medical drama ER and had a co-starring role opposite Eminem in the feature film 8 Mile.

Neil Flynn - An American actor and comedian, known for his role as Janitor in the medical comedy-drama Scrubs. He currently portrays Mike Heck in the ABC sitcom The Middle.

Lou Diamond Phillips - an American film, television, and stage actor and director. His breakthrough came when he starred in the film La Bamba as Ritchie Valens. He earned a supporting actor Golden Globe Award nomination for his role in Stand and Deliver and a Tony Award nomination for his role in The King and I.

Last weekend, Kalmbach Publishing Co. - Kalmbach Jewelry Books, Bead&Button, Bead Style and Art Jewelry - joined the Craft & Hobby Association at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards.

There, Emmy stars from Mekhi Phifer (ER) and Lou Diamond Phillips to Neil Flynn (The Middle) and Joe Mantegna (Criminal Minds), joined in for a Make-n-Take event. The project they created is a necklace designed by Irina Miech, from her new book, Finding Style, coming out in spring 2014. Pre-order a copy now.

A few of the necklaces, along with autographed Bead&Button Show canvas totes, will be auctioned off at the 2014 Bead&Button Show during the silent auction on June 6-7. All proceeds will benefit the Medical College of Wisconsin's breast cancer research program. In 2013, the show raised over $18,000 for breast cancer research.
