Admiring the BeadDream's piece "Picnic in May on Lilac Way", on display at the Minnesota State Fair.
A closer look at the BeadDream's piece 'Picnic in May on Lilac Way' by Marsha Wiest-Hines.
Last weekend, I visited relatives in Minnesota who were so kind as to take me to the Minnesota State Fair. I got a big kick out of the deep-fried-everything-on-a-stick and the free samples of toothpaste, but perhaps my favorite moment came while walking through the Fine Arts building. As I took in the hundreds of paintings, sculptures, and other works on display, I turned a corner and came face to face with a piece of jewelry I knew only too well. This piece, entitled "Picnic in May on Lilac Way" was stitched by Marsha Wiest-Hines and was a finalist in the 2013 BeadDreams competition. In fact, it won second place in the Seed Bead Category! Congratulations, Marsha, for your continued success with this gorgeous piece!
