These beaded squares were donated by Donna Sanders and V.J. Lear (both of the U.K.) as well as Julie Schneider of Oregon in the U.S. All three are members of O.T.T.B.S (Operation Tackle That Bead Stash).
As you may know, we received 1,313 squares for the 2013 Bead-It-Forward project! What a monumental task it was to assemble all of those squares into the items that were auctioned off at the Bead&Button Show
to raise money for breast cancer research. And we couldn't have pulled it off without help from so many different people: people who stitched and donated squares, people who donated quilts and other supplies, and still more people who helped us assemble the squares into auction-able items! The most popular items to come out of this endeavor were these adorable one-of-a-kind ornaments. They went like hot-cakes at the Bead&Button Show
in June. However, we were so in love with them, we held a few back so that we could make them available to those who could not attend the show.
If you're interested in owning one of these handmade ornaments, check out the Esty site we set up for the remaining 2013 Bead-It-Forward beaded ornaments. Remember, all proceeds from the sale of these items are donated to the Medical College of Wisconsin for breast cancer research. These ornaments make wonderful gifts AND you'll be helping a worthy cause at the same time!
