Updated my site - Now I need Feedback =)
cristiamador Posted: Wed, Sep 12 2007 12:33 PM

Hey everyone,

Well, it was about time that I updated my site. I know it's not a great site, but I just wanted to make something simple, easy to navigate and something that I could and would update easily (and wont be to lazy to do it!)

I know my pictures arent big and you cant click on them to see them bigger. There is also no price info or materials info, but I'm not planning on selling through my website yet, and i did want to keep my pics small to prevent people from copying (people around here arent that much ethical when it comes to intellectual property and I've had people copy me before), or at least from copying easily! =)

Let me know what you think, and if you find any typos or grammatical errors, please let me know!

oops! i forgot to put the url! www.cabisuteria.com

I think it looks really good. It would be better if you could put more pictures per page so there would be less pages to click through. Also, a light box would probably help the pictures. Although they are really not too dark, they could be lit much better. I have the same problem but have not invested in better equipment yet either! I didn't see any spelling or grammar errors, except is sounded funny when it said to contact you at the "telephones" instead of telephone. I realize there are two telephone numbers but in English you would not say it that way. I would also prefer to be able to click on the pictures to see the work better but I realize you did that on purpose. Oh yes, one more thing... on the  press section you show magazine covers but it does not say how you are involved. Were you a featured artist, or was a model wearing your stuff...?

Thanks for the feedback... it's kind of hard sometimes to know the right way to translate some things like that! I'll make it singular and also look into the other stuff you mentioned.

Oh, and until I get to it, The models on the cover of the mags are wearing my stuff =)

Very beautiful items.  I found myself wanting to see more.  The only error I found was the same was about the phone numbers.

Best of luck with keeping it updated!

I don't understand these phone numbers- are they for a foreign country?

or to the following telephones
(593-4)283-4134 (593-9)402-0896

Accessories has a "double S"- you have a single.

Also, I would like to know where you are located. The option is for Spanish or English- are you in South America, Spain, etc?
Also would like to know where the magazines were published and sold.
Beautiful jewelry!

I enjoyed visiting your gallery also.  My only comment is to echo what has been said already concerning being able to "click" on a photo to view a close-up of the piece. Jeanie

I couldn't find any errors as I was so focused on your beautiful creations!!  I would like to see an enlargement option though....congrats on your success!

I totally agree the picture should be clickable to enlarge and show detail. The website looks fabulous and I understand you might not want to clutter it, but a description of each piece is needed, I believe. Maybe you could add the piece's description on the enlarged image, once you click on the piece's image in your gallery. Remember it's online shopping, they don't have the piece in front of them to touch and feel, so you have to describe it well for your potential client. I was also wondering what system do you use when someone is interested in a piece or two. The pieces are not uniquely named, nor have a style number (I understand that all of your creations are one-of-a-kind, so style numbers might not work for you), but let's say I'm interested in one of your pieces how would I tell you which one is it and how would you know for sure... "Hi Christina, I would like the earrings on page six, red stones, what kind stones are those, btw? and they're gold... could tell me little more about it? etc" It adds extra steps to the process and someone might think it takes too much effort in trying to describe the piece they want and then request a further description, you know what I mean? If you had the shopping cart feature that wouldn't be a problem. Once they understand the description of the piece clearly, they could just click it and buy it. I've noticed some people use Etsy (besides their own website) as their shopping cart when having one-stop-shopping feature on your site isn't available or not possible. Just make it as easy as possible for your clients to have a smooth positive experience. Other than that, I think your website is beautiful. I love cleanliness of it and it’s easy to navigate through. You’re on the right path, keep going!

I'm sorry, I'm useless for constructive criticism, but your site is gorgeous, your work is gorgeous.  Everyone has made some really valid points....I really love it the way it is though.  So super fresh and clean looking.  Ok hang on, maybe I do have a constructive criticism...perhaps , as someone else has said, a list of the materials used or something like that?

Thanks, i have a very good checklist to go trhough with all the stuff that you've pointed out, I also have the pictures for my bridal section...

One thing I have forgotten... I want to mention my "inspirations" for many of my pieces, who are responsible of me doing what i do now: Eni, Iza and Magda... as you may have been able to see many of my pieces have a lot of their influence... wether in technique, shape or concept.

Well thanks again for pointing out all the things Ive missed... and if you have anymore, keep em coming!
