Hi there, I'm a new forum member, but I'm an old collector of Bead and Button Magazine. I come from the state of Victoria in Australia. I started beading in 2005, but stopped for two years when I was diagnosed with depression. After coming off my medication I found that my creativity returned...

I tweaked my geisha designs a bit. I was working down in the studio and using some new silvered glass, the colors were so pretty I wanted more of her kimono to show so I squished the bottom half!. It actually works out better this way when they're worn as pendants, they don't flip over so easily...

Since they are made with dichroic glass they shine and sparkle beautifully. They are made from borosilicate glass and properly kiln annealed for...

Something new from me that I was working on earlier this summer. It's difficult to heat the glass and not melt the silver off but I finally accomplished it (it took 3 tries to get it right). Of course, the bead it worked on ( #3) is too dark. Hopefully I'll get to try some more this week.

Excitement is in the air, not to mention pollen (sniffle,
sneeze). The Bead&Button Show is almost here and I am sooooo looking
forward to seeing old friends and new beads. I’ll probably make some new
friends because I’m taking two classes this year. Taking a class at the Bead&Button Show is great...

Joy! Joy! Joy! Spring has arrived. I put away my drab wool coat and thick socks and — finally — broke out a cute pair of sandals! I have a bit of pep in my step now that I don’t have to worry about slipping on ice. Spring is a time of renewal for me; my curious/creative muse leads me to try new things...

I just received an advance copy of the new special issue Jewelry Designs with Art Glass Beads , and seeing the instructions for my necklace "Tidepools Reflecting Prometheus" led me back to reconstructing just how I arrived at the design. Where did this design come from? How did I take a vague...

It must be kismet. When Bead&Button Editor Ann Dee Allen asked me whether I would be interested in writing a blog about jewelry design, I replied with a huge smile. She already knew that I was a fan of Bead&Button , but what she didn’t know was that we were on a serendipitous path. I had been...
