Walking through the marketplace of the 2011 Bead&Button Show our resident 4-year old proudly informed my husband and I that she knew how to make a bracelet. This new-found skill was obviously sparked by our surroundings since her standard accessories are composed strictly of rubberbands, hairclips...
The potential for a blizzard is quickly diminishing in Southeastern Wisconsin, which means outdoor events are springing up as quickly as the dandelions. Last weekend, my family and I kicked off the 2011 season by attending an outdoor fundraiser for one of our favorite animal rescue groups, Chicagoland...

Only 78 days until the start of the Bead&Button Show , but who’s counting? We are! I just read the latest Bead&Button Show e-newsletter, and I can feel the excitement building. Plus we just found out that the first run of this year’s commemorative bead by Sara Sally LaGrand has sold out. Not...

We interrupt your originally scheduled holiday madness to bring you BEAD DREAMS ! Oh yeah, it’s time. The holidays are so hectic, I could easily keep two of me very busy. In the midst of all this holiday frivolity, the good folks at the Bead&Button Show have thrown open the gates to Bead Dreams 2011...
Let’s jump right in to my latest blog. I’m a little behind on blogging, but not without a good excuse. Lately, I’ve become even more involved with the Loose Bead Society (LBS) in Milwaukee, Wis., and was on a committee to coordinate a bead show and sale. The sale is four days long and a lot of details...
This year's Bead Dreams competition featured a new design category: wirework. The jaw-dropping caliber of the entries we received told us that the change was much appreciated in the wirework community, a suspicion that was further confirmed when Beaducation lined up to be a sponsor of the category...

Bead&Button Show-goers are some of the most generous people I know. Every year, dozens of vendors and artists donate beads, books, finished jewelry, and other bead-related products to our silent auctions . Some of the hottest items are Jeanette Shanigan's bead quilts (this year the theme is turtles...

Excitement is in the air, not to mention pollen (sniffle, sneeze). The Bead&Button Show is almost here and I am sooooo looking forward to seeing old friends and new beads. I’ll probably make some new friends because I’m taking two classes this year. Taking a class at the Bead&Button Show is great...

I won't be attending the Bead&Button Show this year (if you've been following my BrideStyle column at BeadStyleMag.com , you know why). There's many things I'll miss about the show: Giving myself permission to indulge in a giant soft pretzel after giving myself permission to spend...

On Wednesday, the Rings & Things Bead Tour Truck show was in town and the beads that Kim and the crew brought to Milwaukee were stellar. Oh, and I received the latest...
