Tomorrow, our newest special issue, Brilliant Crystal Jewelry 2, hits newsstands! This issue allowed us as a staff to address one of the biggest concerns Bead&Button readers express about beading: working with color.
In Brilliant Crystal Jewelry 2, you’ll learn all about the relationships between colors in “Designing with color” by Lesley Weiss. If you’ve got an idea for a piece, but are having trouble deciding on colors, this article describes color schemes that work in jewelry design. Then, in “Tell a tale with color,” Victoria Finlay describes a really unique way of selecting colors in order to tell a story with a piece of jewelry. Finally, sprinkled throughout the entire issue are “color notes” that explain why the colors in the jewelry shown work so well together and how you can select your own palette as you recreate the piece. You’ll even receive a free color wheel from CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements with the issue.
But let’s not overlook the title of the issue – Brilliant CRYSTAL Jewelry 2. Every project features crystals prominently, though you’ll also work with wire, links, and more. Our first Brilliant Crystal Jewelry special issue from a few years ago sold out in a hurry, so act fast on this all-new sequel!

RE: Brilliant Crystal Jewelry 2, Pg. 38; Crimson Crowns. At the end of the instructions for this necklace, it stated that Melanie Silver's original necklace could be viewed on her Web site. I was unable to access crystalfeatherstudios.com. Is there another way to view that beautiful piece? From Bead&Button: We contacted Melanie and she said that you can contact her at her e-mail address listed in the magazine. Or, you can see if her necklace is still online at the Northwest Suburban Beadwork Guild meetup page: beadwork.meetup.com/.../photos.
